"An Evening of Music and Drama in Honor of Peretz Hirshbein"
Peretz Hirshbein, (1888 - 1948) was a well-known Yiddish dramatist and novelist. His plays are still performed in revival. In 1924, noted sculptor Chana Orloff created two bronze busts - one of Madame Peretz Hirshbein that is now part of the permanent collection of the Jewish Museum in New York. The second one, Portrait of Peretz Hirshbein, is in the collection of his son, Omus Hirshbein.
